SlapChop Kitchen Chopper
We designed the SlapChop to transform how you prep food in the kitchen. With every slap of the plunger, stainless steel blades spin and chop ingredients directly in the built-in catch cup—no cutting board, no knife skills, no mess.
Whether you’re dicing onions for salsa, crushing garlic for pasta, or chopping nuts for baking, the SlapChop handles it all in seconds. The ergonomic plunger requires minimal pressure, so anyone in the family can help with meal prep. Cleanup takes seconds thanks to the dishwasher-safe design.
What makes the SlapChop different

How the SlapChop Blade System Works
The heart of the SlapChop is its rotating triple-blade assembly. Each time you press the plunger, the blades spin in alternating directions, creating a scissor-like cutting action that produces uniform pieces without pulverizing your ingredients.
Unlike traditional kitchen tools that require repetitive knife work, the SlapChop lets you control texture through the number of slaps. Three or four presses give you a rough chop for stir-fries; ten to twelve create a fine mince for sauces and dressings.

What Fits Inside the Catch Cup
Cup Capacity & Ingredient Limits
The catch cup holds 1.5 cups of chopped ingredients, enough for most recipes without needing to empty mid-prep. We recommend filling the cup no more than halfway with whole ingredients before chopping to allow room for the blade action.
Best results come from cutting larger vegetables like onions or potatoes into quarters before placing them in the SlapChop. Bell peppers, carrots, celery, zucchini, and mushrooms chop cleanly in their whole or halved state. Leafy herbs like basil and cilantro should be roughly torn and loosely packed for even chopping.
Cleaning & Maintenance
All SlapChop components disassemble in seconds for thorough cleaning. Twist the plunger counterclockwise to separate the blade assembly from the cup, then lift out the blade unit. Both pieces fit on the top rack of any standard dishwasher.
For hand washing, use warm soapy water and a bottle brush to reach between the blades. Rinse under running water while rotating the blade assembly to flush out trapped particles. Dry all parts completely before reassembling to prevent water spots.

Common Questions About the SlapChop
The SlapChop is not designed for frozen foods. The blades can dull or chip if used on frozen vegetables, fruits, or ice. Thaw ingredients to room temperature or at least refrigerator temperature before chopping.
For semi-frozen items like slightly firm butter or partially frozen herbs, the chopper can handle them, but we recommend letting fully frozen items thaw for best results and blade longevity.
You’ll notice the SlapChop requires more presses to achieve the same chop size, or ingredients start to crush rather than cut cleanly. Blades typically last 12-18 months with regular home use before needing replacement.
Replacement blade assemblies are available separately on our site. If your blades dull within the first year under normal use, contact us—that’s covered under warranty.
The measurement markings on the catch cup show volume before chopping. After chopping, ingredients compress and actual volume may decrease by 20-30% depending on the ingredient and chop size.
For precise recipe measurements, we recommend transferring chopped ingredients to a standard measuring cup. The catch cup markings are best used as a guide to avoid overfilling before you start chopping.
Yes, the SlapChop handles cooked meats like chicken, turkey, and ham very well for salads and casseroles. For raw meat, cut it into small chunks and ensure it’s very cold but not frozen.
After chopping raw meat, disassemble the SlapChop immediately and wash all components in hot soapy water or run through the dishwasher on a sanitize cycle to prevent bacterial growth.
The rubber base is non-marking and safe for all countertop surfaces including granite, marble, quartz, laminate, butcher block, and tile. The rubber compound does not contain dyes or chemicals that transfer to surfaces.
If you notice any residue after use, it’s likely food particles rather than rubber marks. A quick wipe with a damp cloth will remove any traces.
The original SlapChop features a triple-blade system and 1.5-cup catch cup, ideal for most home cooking needs. The SlapChop 2.0 upgrades to a quad-blade design, 2-cup capacity, and reinforced blade housing for tougher ingredients.
Both models use the same plunger mechanism and dishwasher-safe construction. Choose the 2.0 if you regularly prep large batches or frequently chop harder vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes.
Yes, the SlapChop works well for creating textured baby food from soft cooked vegetables, fruits, and proteins. The adjustable chop size (controlled by number of presses) lets you create anything from chunky toddler food to finer purees.
All components are BPA-free and dishwasher-safe, making them safe for baby food preparation. Always sterilize parts before first use for infant feeding, and wash thoroughly between different food types.
